Nuclear Waste Storage

A heated tunnel section, solved as one coupled THM problem

A 2-D THM demonstration of a tunnel wall heating from 20 to 90 °C over 90 days, with the conduction front and pore-pressure response solved together.

Day-90 temperature field around the heated tunnel; the symmetric quarter model is mirrored for presentation, showing the hot wall ring and conduction halo in the surrounding rock

One coupled run, four coordinated views

The square record keeps the native mesh, prescribed wall ramp, radial temperature and thermal pressurisation profiles together. Animation loads only when requested.

Day-90 N-01 state showing the quarter tunnel section, wall-temperature ramp, radial temperature profile and thermal pressurisation profile

N-01

Heated tunnel near-field

Heat conducts from the tunnel wall into the rock while pore pressure rises with the prescribed heating. Both responses are visible across the same 90-day run.
